About Elka Games

The Vision
My name is Kurt Karcher, and Elka Games is my way of celebrating the tabletop hobby I’ve loved for as long as I can remember. I’ve spent countless hours around game tables, laughing, strategizing, telling stories, and building connections with people from a wide range of backgrounds, locations, and . What has always stood out to me is that tabletop games are never just about the pieces in the box. They’re about the communities they create, the friendships they strengthen, and the memories that linger long after the game ends.

The Meaning of the Name
Elka Games is named after my children. It represents the ideals and goals that keep pushing me forward, and the legacy I want to leave behind.

As my kids were growing up, I had a sobering realization: I had always encouraged them to be unapologetically themselves, and to dive headfirst into the things they love, but I had always been unwilling to allow myself the same freedom and frenzied joy. In 2025, I decided to finally join my deep love for tabletop gaming, and my overwhelming desire to create, and Elka Games was born. It is truly a labor of love, and I look forward to sharing more of it with all of you, every day.
